The following criteria are taken from the checklist:- Cross-references are understandable even without specific sensory perceptions such as color, shape or position.
Cross-references
To create accessible cross-references, you should make sure that they are not only based on visual features such as color, shape or position.
Positive examples: "As illustrated in Figure 3…", "As described in chapter 'Background' (p.8) ..."
Negative examples (not accessible): "In the illustration on the left...", "As described above..."
